Jimmy Thelin revealed he has turned to Sir Alex Ferguson for leadership advice – as he looks to follow in his footsteps and re-establish Aberdeen as a major player in Scottish football.
The Swedish boss has stepped up to the plate with a 15-game unbeaten run in all competitions that has seen them go level with Celtic at the top of the Premiership.
The Dons face Rangers at home on Wednesday night and will go in buoyed by their recent comeback draw at Celtic Park, where Thelin got to meet Aberdeen’s greatest ever manager.
The 46-year-old said: “I met him and had a short talk as he is a busy man. He’s very popular. We talked a little bit about the game we played there and about living in Aberdeen.
