Manchester United icon David Beckham has welcomed Lionel Messi to Inter Miami after his transfer was officially confirmed. Beckham is a stakeholder in the Major League Soccer club and helped complete the biggest deal the USA league's history.
Messi joins on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain after rejecting a move to the Saudi Pro League, signing until 2025. The deal has been common knowledge for some time but has now been rubber-stamped and officially announced.
Beckham revealed his delight at making a 10-year dream a reality. “Ten years ago, when I started my journey to build a new team in Miami, I said that I dreamt of bringing the greatest players in the world to this amazing city," he said.
