Aberdeen will look to take another step towards third place as they host Rangers in the final pre-split round of fixtures with the Ibrox side looking for confidence-boosting result going into their huge Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.

The Light Blues got back to winning ways against St Mirren last weekend after their Old Firm defeat the week prior. Michael Beale will be demanding his players maintain their excellent standard since he arrived and put in an impressive performance, in a fixture that is always hotly contested.

Rangers have won 15 of Beale’s 17 games in charge and scored five goals against St Mirren last time out. Aberdeen have been in sparkling form since the appointment of Barry Robson, winning seven of his nine in charge and now sit five points clear of Hearts in third place.

Aberdeen were seventh following their 6-0 defeat at Hibernian and are now in the driving seat to secure the lucrative third place heading into the split.
