West Ham United have 'joined the race' to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. That is according to a report by Football Insider, which claims the Hammers have joined Newcastle United in the hunt to sign the England international.
Phillips has been strongly linked with the prospect of an exit from the Etihad Stadium ahead of the January transfer window opening in six weeks' time.
Signed from Leeds United in July 2022, the defensive midfielder, who was an unused substitute in England's 2-0 win over Malta on Friday night, has failed to establish himself as a key member of manager Pep Guardiola's plans.
He has made just 29 appearances for the club, including only eight so far this season.
