The India-Pakistan Asia Cup encounter on Sunday offered a perfect nail-biter to the fans as the match went down to the wire.

The last-over thriller eventually saw India winning the game by five wickets but not before both the sides enjoyed a pure roller-coaster ride during the game.

The fans were kept at the edge of their seats, until Hardik Pandya hit a six to seal the match for India with six runs needed to win off the last 3 balls.

What added more flavour to the India-Pakistan match was the friendly behaviour of the players of both the sides with each other and their fans.

In an attempt to find their strongest playing XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Team India have tried out different compositions at the ongoing Asia Cup. So far, the Indian team management has tried different players, which hasn't really helped their case. After securing a safe passage from the Group stage, India failed to qualify for the final after defeats to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage. Speaking on India's chop-and-change policy, former India selector Dilip Vengsarkar feels that multi-team events like the Asia Cup is not a ground for experimentations.
As Virat Kohli performed a masterclass in batting against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup, his close friend AB de Villiers was delighted to see his former teammate "dancing again". Whether de Villiers was referring to Kohli's jig at the crease while some Punjabi music blared on the stadium speakers or him dancing down the track to smash the Afghan spinners around the ground en route to his first international century in almost three years is not something we can be certain about, but the South African batting legend hailed it as a "lovely sight".
Star India batter Virat Kohli on Thursday ended a long wait before finally scoring his first century in nearly three years. Kohli, who last scored a century back in November 2019, scored an unbeaten 122 off 61 balls in the Asia Cup Super 4 clash in Dubai. While India might've failed to reach the final of the Asia Cup, Kohli's return to form has been the biggest positive, especially with the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia next month.
India were dealt a major blow in the Asia Cup on Tuesday as Sri Lanka defeated them by six wickets. The loss came two days after Pakistan had defeated them in the first game of the Super 4 stage. In the match against Sri Lanka, India skipper Rohit Sharma's scintillating 41-ball 72 went in vain, as the islanders completed a chase of 174 with a ball to spare. Needing 21 in 12 balls, Sri Lanka scored 14 runs off the penultimate over bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, almost sealing it in their favour. Barring Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav (34) none of the other batters could fire. Former India captain Virat Kohli was out for a duck and his performance did not impress former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq.
India vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2022, LIVE Updates: India face Sri Lanka in their second game of the Super 4 stage on Tuesday. The match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a crucial game for Rohit Sharma and company, given they have already lost their opening match to Pakistan. A defeat would more or less knock India out of the tournament as they will then have to rely on a lot of permutations and combinations for final match berth.
After facing a defeat against Pakistan in their opening game of the Super 4s stage at the ongoing Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma-led Team India will look to change their fortunes around when they square off against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. India had suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Pakistan and they need to win against Sri Lanka in order to keep their hopes alive of making it to the final. It would be interesting to see what combination Team India goes in with and whether the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Rishabh Pant retain their place in the playing XI.
