Washington Commanders HC Ron Rivera goes off on reporters in explicit rant

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera has gone on an expletive-filled rant in his defence of quarterback Carson Wentz following their win over the Chicago Bears.  The Washington Commanders, in their first year under their new name, have been rather underwhelming so far this season, in a year that should really been a big step forward for them.

Having won 7 games in 2020 and 2021 under the first two years of Ron Rivera’s stewardship, they brought in the services of Carson Wentz.

Wentz, whilst unreliable when it comes to staying healthy, has shown an ability to take teams forward whenever he is on the field, most notably during his 2017 season with the Philadelphia Eagles where he set them on the path to their Super Bowl victory with MVP level performances, and who has a winning record as a quarterback in the NFL.

And when you combine him with the stewardship of Rivera, who has won four division titles during his time with the Carolina Panthers and the Commanders, as well as the NFL Coach of the Year in both 2013 and 2015, this should have been the year that the Commanders look to make a run deep in the playoffs, especially considering their impressive defense led by the likes of Chase Young (who hasn’t played this year due to injury) and Montez Sweat.
