Interim Aberdeen boss Barry Robson expects Vicente Besuijen to return to Excelsior to see out his loan. The midfielder had returned to Aberdeen so their medical team could check over an injury, although it is not expected to be season-ending.
Excelsior have an option to buy the 21-year-old at the end of the season after the attack-minded star found minutes limited under the reign of Jim Goodwin, although the Irishman was sacked at the end of January.
He now comes up against his former club as manager of Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday night. Robson, speaking to the broadcast media, said: “We have got to keep eyes on him, our medical staff here.
We have got him back over to make sure all the rehab is done right and we get him back on the pitch as soon as possible. And the injury is right.
