Comparing sports performers from different eras can be difficult and fascinating in equal measure. It can provide hours of debate among sports fans across a range of disciplines.
Last month, as talk of a heavyweight “Battle of Britain” between Tyson Fury and Antony Joshua reached fever pitch, a video of Fury during the build up to his fight with Deontay Wilder surfaced.
When asked who would have won in a contest between the Gypsy King in his prime and Mike Tyson in his prime, Fury gave a brutally honest answer.
The interviewer asked: “Now your dad’s favourite fighter was Mike Tyson. How do you think you would fare against Mike Tyson, prime versus prime?” In response to this, Fury stated: “I think Mike Tyson would knock me out in about 30 seconds!” Despite this, it is a debate which will not go away.
