Tyson Fury vs Mike Tyson has been simulated & it ends in huge knockout

Comparing sports performers from different eras can be difficult and fascinating in equal measure. It can provide hours of debate among sports fans across a range of disciplines.

Last month, as talk of a heavyweight “Battle of Britain” between Tyson Fury and Antony Joshua reached fever pitch, a video of Fury during the build up to his fight with Deontay Wilder surfaced.

When asked who would have won in a contest between the Gypsy King in his prime and Mike Tyson in his prime, Fury gave a brutally honest answer.

The interviewer asked: “Now your dad’s favourite fighter was Mike Tyson. How do you think you would fare against Mike Tyson, prime versus prime?”

In response to this, Fury stated: “I think Mike Tyson would knock me out in about 30 seconds!”

Despite this, it is a debate which will not go away.

Former MMA fighter Brendan Schaub discussed the topic on his podcast, in front of Iron Mike.

Schaub said: “Mike, before you answer, this is no disrespect, but for me, technically-wise, Fury can go defence. His footwork is great. To me, as far as technique-wise, he is the best we’ve ever had.”

Tyson, who has always been an admirer of the Gypsy King, responded, saying: “Listen, just him being Tyson Fury shows my greatness.

“I don’t know. I don’t care if he could beat me or not. His name is Tyson. He can beat me but I don’t care he is named after the greatest fighter that ever lived.”

One man who would back Fury is boxing promotor Bob Arum, who feels that physically the current WBC heavyweight champion would be too much for former undisputed champion.

Arum stated: “Tyson Fury would beat him, he’s way too big for him. What’s Mike Tyson going to do, jump up and land a punch on Tyson Fury?”
