Tottenham are leading the race to sign Manchester City "target" James Maddison during the summer transfer window - according to reports - as Leicester City brace themselves for offers for the England playmaker.

Maddison, 26, has been a shining light for the mid-table Foxes not only this season, but in past campaigns. He has scored 54 goals and provided 37 assists for the club in 190 games all-told.

That form has thrust one-cap international Maddison onto the radar for bigger clubs in the Premier League as City prepare to compete with Tottenham and Newcastle for his signature.

However, according to reports from Football Insider, it is the north Londoners who are currently favourites to prize him away. READ MORE: Every word from press conference Maddison only has 18 months left to run on his contract.
