If Scott Arfield didn’t know better, he’d swear Michael Beale worked to a daily routine that stretched beyond the standard 24-hour schedule.

But it’s the Rangers manager’s tireless, obsessive commitment to the Ibrox cause which has convinced the former Light Blues star Beale is just the man to bring the good times back to Ibrox.

Arfield only got to spend six months working with the Londoner in command of Gers before packing his bags for the MLS. Beale has barely stopped these past few months having been forced to combine his duties coaching the Ibrox first-team with the labour-intensive job leading the club’s recruitment hunt after sporting director Ross Wilson’s departure.
