If Scott Arfield didn’t know better, he’d swear Michael Beale worked to a daily routine that stretched beyond the standard 24-hour schedule.

But it’s the Rangers manager’s tireless, obsessive commitment to the Ibrox cause which has convinced the former Light Blues star Beale is just the man to bring the good times back to Ibrox. Arfield only got to spend six months working with the Londoner in command of Gers before packing his bags for the MLS.

But from what the new Charlotte FC recruit saw during that brief period, he's told the Rangers faithful to rest assured their manager will be working round the clock in the search for success. Beale has barely stopped these past few months having been forced to combine his duties coaching the Ibrox first-team with the labour-intensive job leading the club’s recruitment hunt after sporting director Ross Wilson’s departure.

It’s called for days which have stretched from dusk till dawn and sometimes beyond to ensure his squad is shaped up for the new campaign. Time will tell how the seven new faces he’s signed cope in Glasgow but Arfield is confident they’ll be an instant hit.

“It’s fantastic,” grinned the 34-year-old. “I spoke to the manager at length – probably from the first day he came in, but more so from February time up to the end of the season.

“He was on it.

“Obviously, Ross Wilson leaving for Nottingham Forest put more onus on him to bring those players in. in my understanding, I think the manager has more than 24 hours in the day because he just gets things done! He finds time for everything!
