Baffled Barry Ferguson admits he can't understand why the SFAare holding off to decide if Brendan Rodgers will land a Celtic dugout ban.

The Hoops are set to take on the SFA on Thursday, March 28 after the Parkhead boss was hit with a notice of complaint for his criticism of VAR official John Beaton following the controversial Scottish Premiership defeat to Hearts.

The Celtic boss faces a two game ban that would leave the Irishman on the sidelines for the clash Livingston and the crucial top of the table showdown at Ibrox with Rangers on April 7.

It has led to criticism from some sections of the Celtic support over the timing of the the hearing after the charge was issued earlier this month - and Rangers hero Ferguson became a surprise cheerleader for Rodgers with the derby clash just around the corner.
