All 20 Premier League clubs have voted through a new TV proposal following an online meeting. The new plan, should it come to fruition after being submitted to TV companies in the coming weeks, will see each club receive an increase in broadcast money.
As part of the plan, more top flight games are set to be made available to watch. In addition, there is also the option for a new broadcaster or streaming service to secure the rights to show Premier League fixtures live.
However, it is believed that both TNT Sports, formerly known as BT Sport, and Amazon will look to add more games to their respective rosters. Sky traditionally broadcast 128 fixtures per season. The current TV rights package comes in at a whopping £5.1billion over a three-year period and is shared between Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon, who show 200 games between them per season.
