11th Hour Racing Team have won Leg 5 of The Ocean Race 2022-23 to Aarhus, Denmark, propelling them to the top of the overall leaderboard.

The impressive win, coupled with the double-points scoring system of the leg across the Atlantic, has moved the American-flagged team above Team Holcim — PRB in the fight for the IMOCA title.

Ad After an intense battle for second, Team Holcim — PRB edged the fast-finishing Team Malizia for second to stay within touching distance in the overall competition.

GUYOT environnement – Team Europe claimed a barnstorming win in The Hague on Tuesday for their first Ocean Race victory, while 11th Hour Racing Team tightened their grip on the first place in the In-Port standings. Skipper Benjamin Dutroux oversaw a superb start as Team Europe hit the start line at top speed on the foils and edged ahead of 11th Hour to take a lead that they refused to relinquish in the two-lap race in fast and choppy conditions. Ad 11th Hour couldn’t make up the gap to the leaders but by finishing as runners-up they extended their lead at the top of the In-Port standings – which act as a tie-breaker for the overall race leaderboard — by a point over Team Malizia, who came third.
