A starving dog was found tied to a lamppost 100 miles from home after being stolen from Manchester. Dog walkers made the shocking discovery on Monday (August 7) and found the XL Bully tied up near Birmingham Airport.
The vulnerable canine, believed to have been snatched from its owners in Manchester a year ago, was spotted around 11.30pm in a dark alley near Birmingham Business Park in Solihull.
Shane Burnham, from Sheldon Dog Services Ltd, told BirminghamLive a concerned family contacted him after they spotted the distressed dog.
He told how he arrived at the scene as the scared pup was 'barking and lunging out of fear'. Join our WhatsAp p Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link. "Although he was very vocal and acting hard as he spotted us walking through the alley, we quickly realised he was just scared and needed some calm reassurance," he said before they took the pup to the vets, which confirmed he had been chipped.
