Rutherglen Glencairn boss Willie Harvey has told his players they owe the club a massive apology after losing 2-1 at relegation-haunted Whitletts Vics on Saturday.

Jack McIlveen gave Glens a second-minute opener, only for Jordan Baird and Jordan Boyd to give Vics a win that boosts their survival hopes in the West of Scotland League First Division.

Raging Harvey says it was a missed opportunity as the defeat dropped Glens to eighth in the table, when a win would have put them back up to fifth.

He said: “I was very unhappy with the players. “They owe a massive apology to the fans that travelled down there on Saturday, and to the committee and everyone involved with the club. “They really let themselves down on Saturday and really let the club down. “We just didn’t perform.
