Former Old Trafford captain Roy Keane has already questioned the ability of new Manchester United signing Sergio Reguilon. Erik ten Hag made the move to bring in the full-back after seeing Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia suffer injuries this season.
Initially, the Reds went after Chelsea's Marc Cucurella but the loan fee and the lack of a January break clause proved a stumbling block.
The Reds switched their attention to Reguilon and confirmed his arrival on deadline day. The full-back has been out of favour at Spurs and was the subject of a heated debate between Keane and ex Tottenham man Jamie Redknapp in 2021.
Keane explained on Sky Sports: "Tottenham have got so many average players. We talk about the pressure Spurs are under to get in the top four but if you take [Harry] Kane and Son [Heung-Min] out of that team they are average."
