Rio Ferdinand has given a damning verdict of Manchester United’s pursuit of Marko Arnautovic, describing their bid as “horrendous”.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News , United have made a bid of €8million for the Bologna forward as they look to add to their attacking options.

The Reds’ lack of forwards was exposed in their opening day defeat to Brighton as Christian Eriksen started as a false nine.

Nevertheless, their bid for Arnautovic has been met with ridicule by many United fans. Supporters are unhappy with the club’s attempts to sign another older striker, having missed out on the likes of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez already this year.
