Ridvan Yilmaz Rangers injury timeline revealed as Philippe Clement has plan for surprise replacement
Philippe Clement has revealed that Ridvan Yilmaz will be out for between four and six weeks. The Rangers defender was forced off during Tuesday's Champions League qualifier defeat to Dynamo Kyiv at Hampden. Record Sport revealed that fears were growing with Ibrox that the Turk's injury was worse than first feared and a scheduled scan had to be pushed back to allow the swelling to ease.
We were also told that former Man United full back Brandon Williams was one name being considered as a viable replacement. Now Clement has revealed that Yilmaz will be missing until at least the middle of September and the assumption was that Jefte would slot in on the left hand side of defence.
However, the Belgian has backed academy graduate to step up in Yilmaz's absence, stressing the importance of giving young prospects a chance when the opportunity arises - something Gers have been criticised for not doing enough in recent seasons. "Ridvan will be out 4-6 weeks roughly.
Wright has a small problem and will miss out this weekend, Balogun is also a doubt. "Robbie (Fraser) has made a really good evolution in the last couple of months, he has done really positive things throughout pre-season.
