Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney took charge of the MLS All-Stars as they took on Premier League side Arsenal. United all-time top scorer Rooney is the coach of DC United and was also in the dugout for the annual encounter.
The showcase clash sees the best players from the MLS take on another team from another country. United have twice been involved in the clash, with back-to-back encounters in 2010 and 2011.
United won on both occasions, with 4-0 and 5-2 scorelines in each respective year. Mikel Arteta's side came out on top with a 5-0 scoreline. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring early for Arsenal at Audi Field in Washington DC.
