Japan striker Ayase Ueda is a reported Feyenoord and a potential move to the Dutch champions could be the key to Rangers landing De Kuip strike star Danilo - as Michael Beale revealed he’s been following Jose Cifuentes for a “long time”.
Reports in Holland on Wednesday suggested Feyenoord had missed out on top target Emanuel Emegha with the Sturm Graz man believed to have turned them down.
But now Cercle Brugge’s £6 million-rated star Ueda has emerged as another on the Rotterdam club’s radar. Feyenoord sporting director Dennis te Kloese is said to be an admirer of Ueda who netted 23 goals in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League last season in his first year in European football following this switch from J-League side Kashima Antlers.
But Ueda, also linked with Genoa, might have to be content with a back-up role if main man Santiago Gimenez stays at Feyenoord.
