Rangers’ Europa League rivals Real Betis are on the brink of losing star defender Luiz Felipe with the Italy International set to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

The Middle East outfit of former Celtic star Jota had been linked with the the Brazilian-born stopper last month before stepping up their efforts to land Spanish legend Sergio Ramos.

However, when the former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain opted to snub the mega millions on offer in favour of a return to first club Sevilla it has forced Nuno Espirito Santo to revive his interest and he can make his move with the Saudi transfer window open until September 7.

And now reports suggest Felipe is ready to complete a move which is a boost to Rangers, who welcome Manuel Pellegrini’s Spanish La Liga outfit to Ibrox for Europa League Group matchday one on September 21.
