Graham Potter dipecat hanya setelah tujuh bulan menangani Chelsea. Meski begitu, Potter akan berhak mendapatkan kompensasi yang nilainya mencapai ratusan miliar rupiah.

The Blues mengumumkan pemecatan Potter menyusul kekalahan 0-2 dari Aston Villa di Stamford Bridge, akhir pekan lalu. Hasil itu menandai kekalahan kedelapan Chelsea dalam 22 pertandingan Premier League di bawah asuhan Potter, dengan meraih tujuh kemenangan saja.

Alhasil Chelsea semakin terpuruk setelah menempati peringkat 11 di klasemen dengan selisih 12 poin dari empat besar. Sekalipun Chelsea mampu menembus delapan besar Liga Champions, Potter dianggap gagal memenuhi ekspektasi padahal memiliki skuad berlimpah.
