Porto 4-0 Cardiff City: Bluebirds finish Portugal trip with defeat as Aaron Ramsey makes debut

walesonline.co.uk

Cardiff City ended their Portugal tour with a 4-0 defeat against Champions League outfit Porto as Aaron Ramsey made his third debut for his boyhood club.

Toni Martinez did the damage in the first half, scoring twice, while a Mehdi Taremi penalty and a late Fran Navarro strike was enough for the Portuguese side to take the win by a comfortable margin.

City had their moments, though, Ramsey hit the post with almost his first touch and Kieron Evans also hit the upright, too. Considering they were playing against a Champions League team, it's not untrue to say that Cardiff were by far the livelier of the two sides at the beginning of the match, with Sheyi Ojo and Karlan Grant getting the better of the Porto full-backs.

Grant and Ojo fired off a number of shots on goal, but to no avail. It's why it came as such a shock when Porto scored with literally their first chance of the game.
