Philippe Clement learns Rangers lesson as boss reacts to Graeme Souness' Frank Lampard preference admission

Philippe Clement says he's not bothered Rangers legend Graeme Souness preferred Frank Lampard for the job - because he has it now and he's focused on getting it right.

Souness played a key role in the recruitment process that led to Clement being appointed as Michael Beale's replacement. Former Chelsea and Everton boss Lampard was initially in the running but didn't make it through to the final stages, with Clement fending off Kevin Muscat to land the top job.

Former boss Souness though said on talkSPORT this week that Lampard was the man for him. He said it was close between the Englishman and the man who eventually got the job, but Lampard was his pick - pointing to Everton's continues struggles since he left and the impossible job he had on his hands at Chelsea.

And while Clement takes a lesson from Souness' outspoken admission, he insists it doesn't faze him in the slightest. Clement said: "It's good.
