Peter Schmeichel had the perfect response to Jamie Carragher on Tuesday evening to counter the former Liverpool captain's constant digs.

Carragher was in a mischievous mood during the build-up to Chelsea's Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund after watching his team humiliate United with a 7-0 thumping at Anfield on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag's side completely imploded in the second half, conceding six goals inside 45 minutes with a performance the Dutchman described as 'embarrassing'.

And as expected, Carragher was lapping it up both on Sunday afternoon and into this week, mocking United by sitting with a can of 7Up during the build-up and crowbarring the number seven into as many sentences as possible - until Schmeichel brilliantly shut him down.
