Peter Schmeichel had the perfect response to Jamie Carragher on Tuesday evening to counter the former Liverpool captain's constant digs.
Carragher was in a mischievous mood during the build-up to Chelsea's Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund after watching his team humiliate United with a 7-0 thumping at Anfield on Sunday. Erik ten Hag's side completely imploded in the second half, conceding six goals inside 45 minutes with a performance the Dutchman described as 'embarrassing'.
And as expected, Carragher was lapping it up both on Sunday afternoon and into this week, mocking United by sitting with a can of 7Up during the build-up and crowbarring the number seven into as many sentences as possible - until Schmeichel brilliantly shut him down.

“Peter, we’re getting to that stage now with the Champions League where we’re getting into March, the seventh of March, for me it feels really important now," Carragher joked. “These games are cutthroat, as I said, into March on the seventh, how important does it feel being at the Bridge?”
Schmeichel replied: “Jamie we can’t hear you, we can see that you’re talking but we can’t hear you.”
Carragher tried again: “Jude Bellingham’s there, he’s a superstar, we feel he’s going to move on in the summer, what type of price tag are we talking about? We feel it will have to start with a seven and you go from there.”
And again: “Peter you’re going to be at AC Milan tomorrow, how big a problem would that be if they go out of the Champions League? We are talking about the seven-time winners, I mean seven times winning the Champions League.”
