Oldham Athletic are set to receive a new £1 million pitch as part of plans to boost the future of sport in the town. Oldham Council today announced it would be invested in the new 'high specification' playing surface at the Latics' Boundary Park ground.
It is hoped that the new pitch, which is expected to be ready in time for the 2023/24 season, will also secure the future of rugby in Oldham.
Oldham Rugby League Football Club is set to start playing its first team matches at the ground from 2024 after reaching an agreement with the Latics.
