Erik ten Hag has left analysts from his home country baffled after Manchester United's latest defeat. Following a 3-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday, the Dutch coach has come in for plenty of criticism.

It is unlikely to see him dismissed this week, MEN Sport understands, but a crucial two matches await. First, United head to Portugal to take on Porto, before travelling to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

But the 71-year-old's downbeat assessment of United's predicament was hardly encouraging for Ten Hag as he fights to save his job.  "I don't want to answer that question. I like Erik.
