No Mohammed Shami In Rohit Sharma-Led India Squad For Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Harshit Rana And Nitish Reddy Called Up

The BCCI on Friday night announced the all-important Indian cricket squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting in Perth on November 22.

Jasprit Bumrah has been named vice-captain in the Rohit Sharma-led India side. Injured veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has not been included.

In his place, young pacers Harshit Rana has earned a maiden Test call-up while fast -bowling all-rounder Nitish Reddy is also in.

Domestic cricket veteran Abhimanyu Easwaran has also been called up. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel are the two wicket-keepers.

But there's a possibility that Shami might join the Indian team for the second half of the Australia tour provided he proves his fitness and readiness in Bengal's last two Ranji Trophy matches at Bengaluru and Indore respectively.
