Newcastle United will be doing “everything they can” to get Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson fit for the game against Fulham on Saturday, says Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie. The Tyneside club have been without both Saint-Maximin and Wilson for their last few fixtures, failing to win without them.

Saint-Maximin has been out with a hamstring problem and manager Eddie Howe recently revealed that the Frenchman had suffered a setback in his recovery. “He’s had a very minor setback with the physios, so whether or not he’ll be fit after the international break is slightly unclear,” the Newcastle boss was quoted as saying by The Northern Echo.

Wilson, likewise, has also been dealing with a hamstring injury but looks to be doing a bit better than his team-mate. On the English striker, Howe said: “We hope that with a bit more time, there’s a chance that the next game could be good for him.” Ahead of their clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage, Downie says Newcastle desperately need Saint-Maximin and Wilson.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Sky Sports reporter said: “They badly need them. The club will be doing everything they can to get them back involved because it’s glaringly obvious that they miss them.
