The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders saw history being made as Arjun Tendulkar made his debut for the 5-time champions.

Since being first bought by the franchise in 2021, Arjun featured for MI for the first time in his career, following the footsteps of his father Sachin Tendulkar who played for the franchise from 2008 to 2010.

But, it was not just the Sachin-Arjun pair that made history in the league on Sunday. Even the name of Duan Jansen, the South African pacer snapped up by Mumbai, went into history books.

Duan, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for his base price of INR 20 lakh in the IPL 2023 auction, is the brother of Marco Jansen, the all-rounder who is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season.

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha lauded Arjun Tendulkar for his performances for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and he had a special request for his critics. In a recent interaction, Ojha said that Arjun should not be judged as the son of a legendary cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar but as a youngster making his debut in the competition. Arjun impressed several experts and critics with his bowling and he has already taken two wickets for his franchise.
Ever since he made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Arjun Tendulkar, son of batting great Sachin Tendulkar, has garnered a lot of attention from experts and fans of cricket. Arjun made his debut for Mumbai Indians earlier this month against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but failed to take a wicket. But, in his next outing, the 23-year-old not picked up his maiden IPL wicket, but also defended 20 runs in the last over to take his team to an important win over SunRisers Hyderabad.
Former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody believes that Arjun Tendulkar is sort of a surplus to Mumbai Indians' resources and as a result, it is not guaranteed that the youngster will get to complete his full quota of four overs on a regular basis. Tendulkar bowled two overs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter against Gujarat Titans and although he conceded just nine runs, he was not given a second spell in the final overs. The MI attack was taken to the cleaners by Abhinav Manohar and David Miller as the defending champions posted a huge total of 206.
Mumbai Indians' bowling coach Shane Bond has said he will be working on increasing the pace of Arjun Tendulkar, whose speeds currently hover around 130 kph. Four days after being smashed for 48 runs, including 31 in one over against Punjab Kings, Tendulkar junior made a fine comeback against Gujarat Titans and ended the game with figures of 1/9 in two overs on Tuesday.
Arjun Tendulkar has seen both ends of the spectrum in his short IPL career so far. After taking a wicket in the last over against SunRisers Hyderabad in an IPL 2023 match, Arjun conceded 48 runs in three overs against Punjab Kings. In that match he also conceded 31 runs in one over, which is the second-most costliest over by a MI bowler. Against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, Arjun, son of Sachin Tendulkar, began on a promising note and conceded four runs in the opening over after his skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first on winning the toss.
Mumbai Indians pacer Arjun Tendulkar drew a lot of criticism after he conceded 48 runs in three overs against Punjab Kings in an IPL 2023 game. Out of those three, he conceded one over alone. Playing only his second IPL match, Arjun, son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, became part of an unwanted tally. Arjun's  31-runs over was the second most expensive over by an MI bowler in the IPL. Daniel Sams holds the first position as he conceded 35 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2022. For the third position, there is a tie between three players as Pawan Suyal against Royal Challengers Bangalore (2014), Alzarri Joseph against Rajasthan Royals (2019) and Mitchell McClenaghan vs PBKS (2017) had conceded 28 runs each.
