A man has died after being 'punched' outside a bar in Bury in the early hours of Saturday (July 8). Police have launched a murder investigation after it was confirmed the 35-year-old victim, who was rushed to hospital from the scene, had died on Sunday.
A major police presence was reported on Silver Street on Saturday, with a large cordon in place and forensics conducting investigations at the scene throughout the afternoon.
Enquiries have suggested the man was punched and then fell to the ground in the attack. Emergency services were first called out to the assault at 4.25am on Saturday where the victim was rushed to hospital with 'life-threatening injuries'. Greater Manchester Police have now arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Police previously confirmed on Saturday they received calls from the public about an assault outside a premises on Silver Street.
