Man, 27, fighting for life in hospital after being hit by 'motor vehicle'

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Chadderton. Emergency services descended on Middleton Road at 8.20pm on Sunday night (July 16).

Police confirmed they were called to reports that a 'motor vehicle' had collided with a cyclist. The cyclist, a 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

He currently remains in hospital in a critical condition. Police say he has serious injuries which are believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, they added. They are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have information, to contact the force's Serious Collision Unit immediately.
