Motherwell boss Stevie Hammell has revealed that striker Louis Moult is seeking medical advice, and admits the loan move from Burton Albion hasn't gone as he had hoped.

However, he is still hopeful of seeing the 30-year-old return to fitness, having missed recent games against Celtic and Rangers.

Hammell said: "He's seeing someone and it's a disappointing one, because we wanted him to come and do really well for us and it's not played out like that so far.

Hopefully that changes, soon." Kevin van Veen took a knock towards the end of this evening's 4-0 Premier Sports Cup quarter-final defeat at home to Celtic, but Hammell hopes his talisman is fit for the visit of Aberdeen on Saturday.
