Morton strengthened their case for a Premiership play-off slot with a solid win over rivals Airdrie at Cappielow. The win moved Morton four points clear of their rivals, though Airdrie have a game in hand.
Morton hit Airdrie hard and fast, with an explosive start that saw them score twice in as many minutes. Jai Quitongo crossed for George Oakley to head in his 12th goal of the season in eight minutes, and two minutes later a botched clearance gave Michael Garrity the chance to double their lead.
Quitongo hit the bar in 50 minutes for Morton, and Robbie Crawford had a shot cleared off the line by Megwa, but they didn't need to do too much more to see out the three points.
Callum Fordyce grabbed a late consolation for Airdrie but it was too little, too late. Morton boss Dougie Imrie made two changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Queen's Park last time out, with Jai Quitongo and Michael Garrity in for Robbie Muirhead and Iain Wilson.
