Millwall have signed Burnley striker Michael Obafemi on loan until the end of the season. Obafemi becomes the Lions’ second signing of the current transfer window following the arrival of Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham earlier this month.

The 23-year-old previously played for Southampton and Swansea and has also been capped by the Republic of Ireland. Millwall’s director of football operations and recruitment, Alex Aldridge, said: “Michael is a player who can add a new, exciting dynamic to the squad and we are really pleased to welcome him to the club. “Heading into this transfer window, adding additional strength to our attacking areas was one of our main objectives, and when Michael became available on loan, we felt we had a great opportunity to sign a forward who has proven his quality at this level.”
