Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has insisted the time is now for his team to seek their revenge on Manchester City. The Gunners led the way in the Premier League for several months last season but fell short to City in the title race after a disastrous April saw them drop points to West Ham, Liverpool and Southampton before being thrashed at the Etihad Stadium.
City's incredible show of perseverance led to them not only clinching the title but also adding the Champions League and FA Cup to their trophy cabinet.
Meanwhile, Arteta had to remain content with a return to European football's elite and a runners-up medal. However, the former City assistant manager believes Sunday is a significant opportunity for Arsenal to begin to right the wrongs of last season, even if it is just the Community Shield.
Speaking about the traditional curtain raiser, the Spaniard said: "[We are] very excited to play a final and have the opportunity to win a trophy.
