Mike Norvell told ESPN Friday that his decision to stay at Florida State came down to «the heart and opportunity of what we have here and what we're going to build upon.» In a phone interview while on the recruiting trail in Jacksonville, Fla., Norvell described the last 24 hours as «wild» and «chaotic» as he considered his options.

Though he declined to get into specific details about his conversations with Alabama, Norvell said: «You respect the place, you respect the position.

At the end of the day, it still comes down to the right fit. It still comes down to the place where you want to be, and what puts you in a position that you can pour everything you have into it. »We've been able to do that over the last four years here at Florida State.

There's a lot of excitement around our program. I'm just excited to continue to build upon the foundation that's been laid." Washington coach Kalen DeBoer agreed to replace Nick Saban as the Alabama coach on Friday, sources told ESPN, after Saban retired earlier this week following six national championships with the Crimson Tide.
