Matt O'Riley's Celtic-mad grandmother reckons the midfielder can get 'furious' when people question his Danish roots. And 85-year-old Lis Egeland, who is the Hoops man's biggest fan, revealed she told doctors on a recent hospital visit to hurry up with her treatment so she could watch O'Riley play on the dizzying stage of the Champions League.

The Celtic star made his international debut for Kasper Hjulmand's men after the 23-year-old was rewarded for sizzling form at Parkhead with a spot in the senior squad, but went on to suffer defeat against Northern Ireland in Belfast.

His gran, who the star admitted was his biggest fan, wasn't able to make it to her grandson's big night, but did reveal she told doctors at a hospital to get a move on with her treatment so she could catch the action of a Celtic game.

Egeland also reckons O'Riley gets 'furious' when his Danish heritage is questioned by doubters as the midfielder was born in England, but qualifies for the Danes for having a Danish mother.
