Mark Lawwell is to leave his role as head of recruitment at Celtic. Peter Lawwell 's son arrived at Celtic Park in the summer of 2022 having operated at City Football Group’s head of scouting - which previously saw him link up with Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou's former side Yokohama F. Marinos are part of the Abu Dhabi-based organisation that has Manchester City at the centre of their portfolio of clubs and he was welcomed by the Australian.
However, this season Lawwell Jr has come under increasing scrutiny from the Celtic fans with several signings during Brendan Rodgers second spell as boss failing to make an impact.
The Hoops’ scouting chief now looks set to has step down to pursue new challenges within the game. It is claimed that Lawwell will leave the club alongside Joe Dudgeon, Celtic’s lead first team scout joined from the City Group.
