Manchester United waiting on the fitness of two players ahead of Tottenham fixture

Manchester United will assess Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial ahead of their Premier League home fixture against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Eriksen missed his first game of the season against Newcastle through illness while Martial has been sidelined for the last two games with a back injury.

United manager Erik ten Hag suggested Martial was in contention to return at the weekend but the 26-year-old was absent from the matchday squad. Also read: Why Pellistri continues to wait for his United debut Martial has suffered three lay-offs already this season, having sustained hamstring and Achilles injuries that sidelined him for three weeks and six weeks separately.

The France international has been unavailable for nine of United's 13 games, having started all five first-team friendlies during pre-season.
