Manchester United target Victor Osimhen falls short of Cristiano Ronaldo Serie A record

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen saw his run of scoring in eight consecutive Serie A matches come to an end on Friday evening, the striker falling short of Cristiano Ronaldo's 11-game record.

Luciano Spalletti's side fell to a first defeat 11 games at home to Lazio, conceding in the 67th-minute after being frustrated for much of the previous hour.

Despite enjoying the lion's share of possession, 14 shots yielded just two on target - neither of which were from Osimhen. The Nigerian striker has been in scintillating form all season, his 19 goals in 21 league games seeing Napoli pull 17 points clear at the top of the table and on course for a first Scudetto since 1990.

And that run intensified at the turn of the year, with a run of 10 goals in eight games.
