Manchester United's former Swindon Town and Burton Albion loan goalkeeper Majet Kovar on way to Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham Town have agreed a deal to sign Czech goalkeeper Majet Kovar on loan from Manchester United. The 22-year-old is due to link up with the League One Robins on Monday, July 25 and will be available for the first game of the 2022/23 season the following Saturday, at home to Peterborough United.

Kovar has previous third tier experience with Swindon Town in 2020/21 and Burton Albion last term and he has represented the Czech Republic at every level from Under-18 to Under-21.

He joined United from 1. FC Slovácko in 2018 and his contract with the Red Devils runs until 2023, with the option of an additional year.

Kovar is likely to start the campaign as head coach Wade Elliott's number one, with fellow summer signing Shaun MacDonald challenging him for the starting shirt and Max Harris set for a loan return to Weston-super-Mare.
