Manchester United have solved their problem position without their £158m solutions

Maybe the solution has been staring them in the face all along. Having spent £73million on a right-winger who prefers to play on the left and £85million on a right-winger who has made no impact, Manchester United's problem position has been solved by someone who was at the club all along.

Alejandro Garnacho was still a name yet to gain traction outside of academy circles when United completed the flawed signing of Sancho in the summer of 2021.

But a year later, he had begun to make waves as Antony became the second most expensive signing in the club's history. Antony and Sancho occupy second and fifth on that list, but might be first and second for the worst signings United have ever made.

Sancho has trained on his own for four months having made little impact on the first team and has now about to return to Borussia Dortmund on loan.
