Manchester United have reportedly been handed a blow in their hopes of signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa in the January transfer window.

Last week, the Italian forward was linked with a move to Old Trafford as the situation with Jadon Sancho continued to drag on.

United's 23-year-old has been exiled from the first team after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag over his training ground performances.

Chiesa was listed as an option for the Reds as the 25-year-old's contract in Italy is set to expire in 2025. Already, the international forward has scored four goals in seven matches and is one of Juve's star players.
