Manchester United are sweating on the fitness of Manuel Ugarte after the midfielder came off with what looked like an injury during Uruguay's goalless draw with Ecuador.
Ugarte left the pitch after 82 minutes and was accompanied by a member of Uruguay's medical staff. United will now run the rule over the £42m summer signing when he returns to Carrington.
He is expected to fly back to Manchester today and will likely return to Carrington on Thursday. He was the last player back from international duty in the September break.
The sight of the 23-year-old limping off the pitch in Montevideo is the latest fitness concern for Erik ten Hag as he assesses the state of his squad ahead of Saturday's return to domestic action against Brentford.
