Manchester United are dealing with a number of injuries ahead of this Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag has been forced to deal with numerous issues in the 2023/24 season with a number of crucial players suffering multiple blows. Mason Mount, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez top that list and the trio are all currently absent with muscular problems.
Ahead of the 1-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag admitted there were doubts surrounding Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane, however both got through the game. "They fought to be part [of it] and they came well out of the game," Ten Hag admitted in his press conference. And for the rest, I don't think players will return for Sunday, so we do it with the squad from yesterday." Harry Maguire though, was absent for the clash and is expected to miss the Manchester Derby with Ten Hag admitting it is unlikely United welcome any players back from injury. Rasmus Hojlund also recently picked up a problem, with that blow seeing him miss the defeat to Fulham, and he is expected to remain out for another few weeks.
