Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has shown what he thinks of Sir Jim Ratcliffe criticism

The news of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's interest in investing in Manchester United may have initially drawn a lukewarm response by one or two players in the Reds' dressing room.

Failsworth-born Ineos founder Sir Jim has been a United fan since childhood, and so like the millions of fellow Reds supporters around the world he has been through quite the rollercoaster, particularly in recent years.

United have struggled for consistent success following Sir Alex Ferguson's departure a decade ago - and Sir Jim has not been afraid to publicly criticise players who he thinks are not up to the task.

Speaking in 2019, Sir Jim suggested the purchase of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk for £50m in 2018 proved United 'have been the dumb money'.
